  1. Roller Coaster Ride To Heaven

  3. A personal account of a Kundalini experience

  6. The experience took place during a week long 'course' of meditation
  7. and personal development. After going to bed at about 1:30am early
  8. on Thursday morning my body started to shake, this was not like
  9. shivering but had a complex rhythm which felt like being on a train
  10. passing over multiple sets of points. The shaking continued for an
  11. hour or so. I then became aware of an area of heat and tingling near
  12. the base of my spine, just above my buttocks. The area felt to be
  13. circular and about 4 inches in diameter. It remained stationary for
  14. a while and then spread downwards to the base of my spine. After
  15. another delay its centre moved upwards about 6 inches and seemed to
  16. get bigger, to about 6 or 8 inches in diameter. During this stage I
  17. lost all 'normal' feelings in the lower part of my torso. I remember
  18. being concerned that I might wet the bed, or worse.

  20. After the tingling had moved up to the centre of my back it appeared
  21. to spread sideways, covering the whole width of my back. It stayed
  22. here for a while (I'm not sure how long, perhaps 10 minutes or so).
  23. The tingling had remained on the lower part of my back but the central
  24. area was slowly advancing upwards.

  26. By this time I had the feeling that I was experiencing something of
  27. considerable power. I could actually hear a deep rumbling sound which
  28. was synchronised with my shaking. Now too, I was seeing something;
  29. there appeared to be a gigantic tube, wound into a coil, which
  30. disappeared downwards into darkness. At its top the tube was unwinding
  31. from the coil and disappearing upwards out of my vision. The tube
  32. seemed to be made of all the things my body had ever experienced,
  33. everything I had ever tasted, touched, smelled or heard. I could see
  34. these sensations as textures on the surface of the tube. As it unwound
  35. these sensations were being played back to me, as if on a tape recorder,
  36. so that I was re-experiencing them.

  38. There then came a moment when I sensed that the area of heat and tingling
  39. was about to move upwards again. This time I knew it wasn't going to stop.
  40. I felt within it an enormous, perhaps infinite, power. I think I said
  41. 'Oh Oh, its coming'. Firstly it moved upwards only a small distance then
  42. it seemed to spread forwards into my heart. At the same time the vision
  43. of the unwinding coil accelerated, the sense of power was now awesome,
  44. flowing through me like a huge electric current, as if I had been plugged
  45. into the national grid.

  47. Now it was my emotions that were being unwound from the coil, I began
  48. laughing at the top of my voice, giggling, and then I was crying.
  49. Suddenly, in the space of a second, the tingling grew in power and
  50. spread both upwards and downwards. It shot upwards into my head and I
  51. experienced a gigantic explosion of light. I shouted 'Jesus Christ'
  52. three times. There was only one word to describe what I was now
  53. experiencing, that word was 'God'. I don't know how long this phase
  54. lasted. I remember being asked what I was feeling, I replied 'everything'.

  56. After a time the experience subsided. The rhythmic shaking stopped and
  57. was replaced by spurious shakes. I felt thoroughly 'spaced out' and
  58. rather exhausted. All of a sudden I knew I was going to throw up,
  59. fortunately I managed to make it to the toilet before doing so.
